Catherine Colonna, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, had a meeting with Mr Karim Khan, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), in Paris on 10 November 2023, on his visit to the Paris Peace Forum (PPF).

France pays tribute to the efforts of the ICC, the only permanent international criminal court which aims to be universal, tasked with trying those accused of genocide, crimes against humanity, crimes of aggression and war crimes.

France reiterates its full support for the ICC, whose role in the fight against impunity for the most serious international crimes is essential in order for victims to obtain justice. This is a precondition for international stability.

France is historically one of the main contributors to the Court, not just financially but also as regards judicial cooperation.
