North Korea – Missile launch (August 31, 2023)

France utterly condemns North Korea’s launch of two ballistic missiles on August 30, which represents yet another violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

France assures the Republic of Korea and Japan of its total solidarity. It urges North Korea to immediately put an end to these destabilizing actions, to comply with its international obligations without delay, and to return to the negotiating table in order to engage in a process leading to the complete, verifiable, irreversible dismantlement of its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

Together with its partners, France is fully committed to ensuring the implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions and encourages dialogue among all the parties.
